Classic Banana Bread Recipe
Ingredients
3 ripe bananas (The riper the bananas, the sweeter and more flavorful the bread will be.)
1/3 cup melted butter
3/4 cup sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon baking soda
Pinch of salt
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
Optional add-ins
1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
1/2 cup chocolate chips
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Instructions
Melt the butter in a large saucepan. Remove from heat.
Mash bananas in a large bowl with a fork until smooth.
Mix in melted butter with the bananas.
Add sugar, egg, and vanilla, and stir until combined.
Sprinkle in baking soda and salt, then mix.
Add flour and stir until just combined (don’t overmix).
Fold in optional ingredients like nuts or chocolate chips if using.
Grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan and pour batter into loaf pan and smooth the top.
Bake for 50–60 minutes at 350°F (175°C), or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Let the bread cool for about 10 minutes, then remove from the pan and cool fully on a rack.
